The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences offers advanced training courses in applied earth sciences within the framework of a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS).
CAS ETH in Applied Earth Sciences
The CAS ETH in Applied Earth Sciences focusses on the knowledge transfer, critical reflection, and practical problem solving tasks in following three areas:
- understanding the behavior of geological materials in soil- and rock engineering
- use of natural resources especially geothermal energy as well as protection of groundwater
- risk-management and analysis of natural hazards
The Engineering Geology group is involved in the courses of the module group 1 “Baugeologie” and module group 3 “Geo-Risiken”.
